NOTES: I sent my Canon XSi off to Hap Griffin a couple weeks ago. He modified it using an Astrodon filter to replace the stock Canon IR filter. I received the camera Friday and managed to get out for some trial images tonight. This is only one hour of 2.5 minute exposures @ ISO1600 through the ES 102mm f/7 triplet. The combination of short subs and heavy light pollution (from central Ft. Collins) makes imaging from my driveway a little difficult. A couple more hours of exposure time and some more careful processing would have helped as well. Knew when I started this was just a test to see how much more sensitive the camera is. I like the initial results! Capture & initial processing in Nebulosity, then played in Photoshop a little. |
